It was a car lover's delight over the weekend at the Midale Classy Car Show, with 57 vehicles on display there was a lot to enjoy.

Spectators could vote on their favourite vehicle and this year’s People's Choice Award went to Scott Zieglgansberger who won a $150 Co-op gift card. He shares how long it took him to restore his 1969 Mustang.

“I did an 8-year restoration on it, lots of time and sweat and effort went into it. It's been a long dream.” We asked Zieglgansberger what kind of a motor he has in the car, “It’s a 302 stoked out small-block, AOD overdrive, 410 Auburn gears, Moser axles, a little bit of pep but nothing crazy.”

When asked how long it takes for his 1969 Mustang to go from 0 to 60, Zieglgansberger responded with a chuckle, “I’d be lying if I told you I don’t pay attention to the speedometer.”

Zieglgansberger purchased the car 18 years ago, but he’s actually had his eye on the car since he was a child.

“I actually bought the car from Bienfait off a guy called Ernie Wagner, which his son Lauren ended up with the car. I bought that off of him. I knew the car growing up as a little kid since I was in diapers. So, it's kind of been a part of my life the whole time.”

When asked if he would ever sell the car, Zieglgansberger said, “Never.”

Other highlights of the event included Darren Serson’s 1985 Chevy truck. “It’s a movie truck, it was used in the movie Super Hybrid and that’s why I bought it.” The movie was shot and produced in Saskatchewan in 2010.

Scott Stabenow organizer of the car show shares his thoughts on the event.

“We seem to have quite a bit of interest in it. It's better every year, we get not only the same cars, we're getting a lot of varieties from different parts of the province. And so, I think we'll keep going.”
