If you plan on doing some landscaping this summer, SaskPower reminds you to consider overhead power lines.

One thousand power outages occur annually as a result of contact with trees.

Trees are a valuable source of oxygen, they provide shelter from the wind and a home for animals, but they can also mean trouble for power lines.

SaskPower encourages people to consider the mature height of a tree before it's planted, and recommends planting a minimum of ten metres away from existing overhead power lines.
