The Weyburn Chamber of Commerce held their annual Agriculture Appreciation Night Tuesday at McKenna Hall. As part of the evening, the Golden Sheaf Award was presented.

This year, the recipient of the award was Brad and Roslyn Eggum - Halloway Ag Corporation.

"It's wonderful to be in front of so many peers and colleagues and to be honoured in this way," Brad said after the presentation. "It's very humbling and very flattering."

Brad started working with the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool in 1987 in Fillmore and met his wife Roslyn. In 2003, he left the Wheat Pool and took his knowledge of marketing as well as his crop advisor certification, putting his focus on expanding the family farm.

In addition to working the family farm, the Eggums also started their own seed sales company, coming to the forefront of soybean production in the area. They also became very involved in the community, with Brad sitting as president of the Midale Curling Club for the past 14 years, and are supporters of the local 4-H Club.
