If you’re looking for something festive to do in Weyburn, you have until November 25th to check out the Festival of Trees.

Executive Director of the Family Place, Dawn Gutzke says last year the event had to be entirely online because of COVID-19 restrictions, but this year the trees can be viewed in-person.

“It's so exciting this year honestly, just walking into those showrooms at Ford and Barber and seeing the trees all lit up and twinkling. It's just so nice and I'm excited that the community can go and view them because a lot of members of the community like to go see that.”

Over 20 trees were donated this year, along with many items for the silent auction.

“It's going to be a great success this year. We have close to 100 items already. We're going to be adding daily, there's more stuff coming in, so we're just really overwhelmed with the tremendous support from the community, so thank you to everyone.”

The trees will be up for viewing until the 25th, which is the same time the silent auction will run. The virtual tree auction will take place on November 25th and will run from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

“The silent auction is starting today and they're going to be up on our Facebook page for a whole week and there's lots on and they're adding more. There are still more items trickling in, so there will be items added daily, and the Facebook page is 2021 Festival of Trees.”

To attend this year’s Festival of Trees you can visit Barber Motors, and Great Plains Ford during business hours. The silent auction and virtual tree auction is taking place on Facebook.
