Harold Arthur Hunstad

On Friday May 21, 2010, Harold Arthur Hunstad passed away at the Radville Medical Health Centre at the age of 93 years.  Harold was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Alma Hunstad, his brothers Leroy, Milo, Orries and Donald, his sisters Hilma Hunstad, Marie Throssell, Evelyn Hanning.  He is survived by his wife Gladys Hunstad, his children Leslie (Marilyn) Hunstad of Lake Alma, Sk., children: Yolanda Hutton, Reese (Caitlin) Hunstad, Charity, Jordan; Gloria Hunstad of Regina, Sk.; Perry (Laurie) Hunstad of Warren, Mb, children: Justin (Nola) Hunstad, Alan (Anne) Hunstad, Lana; Terry (Michelle) Hunstad of Winnipeg, Mb, children: Erica, Ashley, Rachel; Sylvia (Doug) Henheffer of Yorkton, Sk, children: April, Vickie, Lindsay; Brian (Aimee) Hunstad of Stoughton, Sk, children: Jessica, Stephanie, Christine, Gunnar; and 5 great grandchildren; two sisters Doris Anderson of Weyburn, Sk and Ilene (Alex) Miles of Weyburn, Sk; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Harold Arthur Hunstad was born on July 24, 1916 at the old homestead in the municipality of Lake Alma, Sk.  He took his primary education at Pepper school.  Harold married Gladys Brenholen on July 14, 1954 in Weyburn, with the reception being held at Colgate, Sk.  They started out their married life living in Lake Alma.  Eventually Harold bought the George Olson farm.  They raised their 6 children on the farm.  In 1982 Harold and Gladys built a new house in Lake Alma.  They sold their house in 2008 and moved into Radville at the Golden Heritage, where Gladys still resides.

A celebration of Harold's life was held at the Lake Alma Free Lutheran Church, Lake Alma, Sk at 2:00 pm on Saturday May 29, 2010 with Pastor Jim Winter.  Active pallbearers were: Reese Hunstad, Jordan Hunstad, Justin Hunstad, Albert Anderson, Allan Anderson, Wayne Hunstad.  Honorary pallbearers are Harold's granddaughters: Yolanda Hutton, Charity Hunstad, Lana Hunstad, Erica, Ashley, Rachel Hunstad, April, Vickie, Lindsay Henheffer, Jessica, Stephanie, Christine Hunstad.
