SJHL rosters are now down to the 25 player limit, after a flurry of activity yesterday by the teams.

There were eight transactions at the junior A level, with some teams re-assigning players to junior B for the time being. The Weyburn Red Wings were one of the teams that made a transaction, although it didn’t involve any active players on the roster.

The Wings traded the CJHL playing rights of Rylan Parenteau, who is currently with the Tri-City Americans of the WHL, to the Spruce Grove Saints of the AJHL, in exchange for a player development fee.

The Humboldt Broncos making one trade, as they picked up Benton Hrywkiw from the Saints in exchange for a player development fee.

The La Ronge Ice Wolves involved in two trades at the deadline. The first trade reported had them acquiring Shea Kiryk from the Kindersley Klippers, with no compensation going back to the Klippers. The Ice Wolves then moved Tristan Elder to the Cobourg Cougars of the OJHL for Arshia Mitchell and a player development fee. Cobourg is the host team for this year’s RBC Cup.

The Melfort Mustangs made a few moves to help bolster their team. The defending Canalta Cup champions picked up Lucas Fraulin from the Powell River Kings of the BCHL for a player development fee, the traded Nicholas Schultze to the Neepawa Natives of the MJHL for a development fee. The Mustangs also acquired Boedy Donald from the Nipawin Hawks in exchange for third round draft picks in 2018 and 2019.

The Flin Flon Bombers rounded out the deals when they traded Joseph Leonidas to the Steinbach Pistons of the MJHL for Troy Williams.
