The Weyburn Concert Series is gearing up for an exciting show on Monday, April 22nd, with Jake Vaadeland and the Sturgeon River Boys. Vaadeland hailing from Regina is often described as an old soul in a young man’s body as his music is reminiscent of Bluegrass and 50’s Rockabilly.  

The multi-instrumentalist and songwriter has earned numerous awards. In 2022 he won two Saskatchewan Music Awards including Album of the Year, ‘Everybody but Me” along with Folk/Roots Artist of the Year and he also won 4 Saskatchewan Country Music Awards including Fans Choice Entertainer of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Alternative Country Album of the Year and Emerging Artist of the Year. 

Vaadeland’s two-week Saskatchewan tour will wrap up at the end of April however, his popularity is on the rise, as the United Kingdom is set to host him for a two-week tour in May. 

Pre-sale tickets for the event can be purchased at either the Weyburn Review or Old Fashion Foods, with tickets also available at the door. Doors will open Monday at 6:30 p.m., and the show will begin at 7:30 p.m.
