While there was much attention paid to the trade of Joseph Young to the Blackfalds Bulldogs Tuesday, the Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings made another move later in the afternoon.

The Red Wings acquired 01-born forward Beau Larson from the La Ronge Ice Wolves. Going back to La Ronge is a player development fee.

Larson appeared in three games last season for the Ice Wolves, scoring three goals and adding an assist. Before that, he skated with the Kimberley Dynamiters of the KIJHL where he had 34 points in 43 games as an 18-year-old.

Originally from Val Marie, Larson played his minor hockey in Swift Current, where he capped off his U18 career with 54 points in 36 games with the Swift Current U18 AA Hurricanes.
