COVID-19 antigen rapid tests are now available in Weyburn. The tests are being made available to the general public at no cost.

The test is provided by the Saskatchewan Health Authority to support asymptomatic COVID-19 surveillance. The kits are intended to be used as a screening tool, and not intended for diagnosis. Those who are asymptomatic who use the at-home test kits, and receive a positive test are advised by the SHA to call Healthline 811 for further directions and to arrange for a confirmatory lab test.

A self-test kit can't be used as proof of a negative test for anywhere that requires proof of vaccination or a negative test, according to the provincial government.

In Weyburn, the tests are available through the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The kits are being provided on a first-come, first-served basis
