A new program for youth is coming to the Weyburn Credit Union Spark Centre beginning this Friday night.

Leisure Services Manager with the City of Weyburn, Ryan Dale, said the only thing that is not normally available on a drop-in basis at the Spark Centre is the Simulator Room.

"So we're going to be staffing a a certified programmer in there on [designated] Friday nights between 6:30 and 7:30, starting November 12th," he noted. "No registration needed. We're going to open up the Mini Gym along with the Simulator Room, and just let these kids have fun."

Dale said this is to, "get teens, some youth in the same room as well under super supervision."

Normally, the Simulator Room alone is $40 an hour.

"It is $8 if you're a member at the Credit Union Spark Centre, or if you own a City of Weyburn Leisure Super Pass, it's $8, and if you're not a member, it's a $10 drop in fee for that program."

"This way they can hang out with their friends in a nice safe place with supervision from a programmer," he added.

The youth drop-in program won't run every Friday night, but up to twice a month. Dale added the drop-in rate is only for this one hour, and does not apply to the rest of the drop-in ammenities at the Spark Centre.
