The U18 AA South East Gold Wings were on the road Wednesday night, travelling to Wilcox to take on the Notre Dame Hounds at Duncan McNeill Arena. The Gold Wings would build on the strength of a pair of goals from Paytin Copeland, skating to a 4-1 victory.

Trista Stadnick opened the scoring for the Gold Wings in the first period, with just 2:43 left in the period. She was assisted by Mckenna Walls on the goal. It was followed up by a tally from Copeland with just four seconds remaining in the period. Walls and Stadnick assisted on the goal.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the second period, with Phoenix Preston-Winder turning aside six shots, and Notre Dame goalie Schay Camphaug stopping six as well. The scoring would pick back up again in the third, however.

Copeland made it 3-0 just 2:14 into the frame, assisted by Presleigh Runge. Then, Madi Doud put the Gold Wings up 4-0 with an unassisted goal with 8:11 to play. The Hounds would get one past Preston-Winder in the final minute. Alexa Albert scored a power play goal with 52 seconds left in the game.

The Gold Wings will be back in action on November 12th, when they host the North East Aces at the Harry O Memorial Arena in Midale.
