Weyburn Minor Hockey teams will be getting an early start to the action this weekend, with some teams beginning play in tournaments Friday morning. While the overall schedule may not be as hectic as the have been in the past, it will still be a busy one this weekend.

Midget

The AA Streamline Oilfield Wings won’t be hitting the ice until Sunday. They host the Regina Capitals at Crescent Point Place. The Wings are looking to extend their lead for first in the SSMHL.

The female AA Aaron Well Servicing Drillers get to enjoy a weekend off. They don’t get back onto the ice until Tuesday, when they host Estevan.

Two games on tap for the Barber Motors Silverado Wings. They start off with a game against Milestone at the Sports Arena Friday at 7:45 p.m. It is followed up with a road game Sunday, when they head off to Redvers to face the Rockets.

The Aldon Oilers have a lone road game this weekend. They head onto the highway to face the Kipling Royals Saturday night. The game begins at 8:00 p.m.

Bantam

The female Creekside Car Wash Wings start their tournament in Regina Friday morning. They take on the Regina Blues in their opening game at 11:30 a.m. They will be playing three round robin games in the tournament, which wraps up Sunday.

Pee Wee

The AA Young Fellows have a triple header against Yorkton this weekend, with all three games on home ice. They begin place Saturday afternoon at 12:15 p.m. at Crescent Point Place. Saturday evening, the teams meet once again, at 7:15 p.m. in the Sports Arena. They close out the three games Sunday afternoon at Crescent Point Place, with face off at 12:00 p.m.

The female Young Fellow Gold Wings are also in Regina for a tournament, with their first game being early Friday morning. They take the ice at 8:15 a.m. They will be playing three round robin games, with the tournament wrapping up Sunday afternoon.

Atom

The AA Panther Drilling Wings head onto the highway Saturday, as they go to Swift Current for a pair of games. They play the Broncos at 3:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon, then again at 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

A tournament is in the cards for the AM1190 Blues. They will be participating in the tournament in Midale. It begins Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m.

The P&H Wings will also be in the Midale tournament. Their first game starts tonight, when they take the ice at 6:00 p.m.
