The Weyburn Police Service is investigating after an incident early Friday morning resulted in two men being injured, including one with a non-life-threatening stab wound.

Around 2:20 a.m., officers responded to a call about a person having been beaten up in the Laing Crescent Park area. They found a 21-year-old man with minor injuries. The man was also intoxicated, and due to the levels, he was taken into custody, treated for injuries, and then held in cells until sober. He is also facing a charge of public intoxication.

While investigating the original call, another came in about a man who required medical assistance for a stab wound. A 26-year-old man was taken by EMS to the Weyburn General Hospital.

Reports to police suggest that there are two or three more individuals present but their exact involvement, descriptions, or identities, are not known at this time. Anyone with information about this incident, which is believed to be isolated, is asked to contact the Weyburn Police Service.
