It wasn't just a fairly warm day for a late September day yesterday. In fact, it got up to 31 degrees, with the record for the day set on this day in 1962, at 29.4 degrees.

It's expected to get even hotter today with a forecasted high of 33 degrees, a record we could easily beat, as we only reached 30.6 on this day in 1957.

Grass fires are now a significant risk, according to Meteorologist Terri Lang with Environment and Climate Change Canada.

"The fields are dry, we haven't seen any significant rain, we're getting the wind, so people should kind of be aware of that," she noted.
