Members of the Weyburn Special Olympics floor hockey team, the Dragons, are playing in style now, thanks to a recent donation from the Weyburn Young Fellows.

“They approached us earlier this year, looking for a donation to get some new jerseys,” said Young Fellows Treasurer Chad Ror. “They were seeking $1150 dollars, and we decided to give them the whole amount to get them on their way.”

He said the Young Fellows take pride in all of the people in our community.

“All money that we raise from all of our projects are typically used to support various athletic, educational and parks and recreational programs used by people in the Weyburn area,” said Ror. “We do, obviously, extend to anything and everything that welfares a community, right? But those are kind of the three things that we do particularly look for."

The Dragons meet every Wednesday for practice. This past Wednesday, the Weyburn Young Fellows joined the Dragons for a scrimmage. The Dragons beat the Young Fellows 8-7.
