Genetic Engineering Technology has definitely benefited agriculture but with technology always improving the President of Cereals Cam Dahl says that we already are at the next stage of technology and that the current DNA technology they're using is yesterday`s science.

Dahl talked about what the new technology is allowing them to do.

"This new technology is now allowing us to turn on or turn off specific characteristics in a plants genome, and that is going to allow us to very rapidly bring on new traits like drought tolerance and hopefully fusarium tolerance."

The benefits of genetic engineering technology have already had an impact on farmers. With the benefits included increased yield, reduced input costs and the reduction of tillage. It has also given farmers herbicide resister canola, corn, and soybeans.
