The 15U AA Weyburn Beavers took part in the league playoffs on the weekend. They had finished the regular season at the top of the league and were looking to crown the year off with the championship.

They opened the playoffs at Jubilee Park in Weyburn Friday evening, and topped the Regina Buffaloes 12-1, with the game called after five innings. From Weyburn, the team would go to Regina for the rest of the playoffs.

They opened Saturday with another five-inning win, beating the Lumsden Cubs 14-3. Then, they topped the Moose Jaw Canucks Grey squad 16-2 in five innings. From there, the team was off to the playoffs Sunday.

The semifinal matchup saw the Beavers taking on the Moose Jaw Canucks Red team. The Beavers would hold off the opposition to pick up a 2-0 win, advancing to the finals where they were up against the Lumsden Cubs, a rematch from Saturday morning.

The Cubs would get the win back from the day before, though, edging out the Beavers 8-6 to take the league title.

The 15U AA Beavers will now get set for the provincials, which are scheduled to be played in Saskatoon this coming weekend, with the first game scheduled for Friday afternoon.
