Provincial Agriculture Minister Bob Bjornerud

Flood waters in 2011 meant another challenging year for grain farmers.

Provincial Agriculture Minister Bob Bjornerud says wet weather over the past year is bound to affect farmers going into 2012.

"Flooding in the east side and down into the southeast part of the province would certainly be the biggest issue that we had this year," says Bjornerud. "It's just one of those things that happen from time to time. We had in excess of seven billion acres that went unseeded or got flooded out."

He hopes the weather will co-operate so farmers can have a successful crop season in 2012
