It's been in his family for over 100 years and now a U.S. citizen fighting a battle trying to keep his families land in Southeast Saskatchewan.

Dale Kreimeyer from Oklahoma has been fighting with the Farmland Security Board trying to keep 640 acres of land North of Midale that was willed to him.

The issue that has been brought to the forefront is that he's an American citizen and legally can not own land in Canada.

Kreimeyer says he has had talks with the board to plead his case and one solution is that he's able to keep 10 acres of land and the farmhouse.

Kreimeyer will have a meeting on June 23rd with the Farmland Security Board to review this case.

He adds if he knew it was going to be this big of hassle, he would get dual citizenship.
