The Swift Current Broncos added 11 prospects during the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft, including Weyburn U15 AA Annugas Wings forward Brennan Brown.

Brown, who is originally from Milestone, played 29 games with the Annugas Wings, scoring 20 goals and getting 25 assists for a total of 45 points.

The 2022 WHL Prospects Draft was held Thursday, and Brown said it was a pretty big day for him.

“I was sitting in school and I was getting phone calls and text messages from family and friends,” said Brown. “I was pretty pumped up and happy about everything that happened yesterday during the draft.”

Brown has been working hard to make this goal of being a part of the WHL a reality.

“During the hockey season it's harder to get more training because you're on the ice so often, but during the offseason here I've been, I'll be going to Level 10 fitness in Regina and I have my own workout program at home that I'm doing six times a week, so I'm doing all that to stay in shape and get ready for next year's hockey season already.”

Brown is heading to Moose Jaw next year to play AAA hockey, and he hopes to make the Swift Current team around 16 or 17 years old.
