Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Weyburn has kicked off their first annual IGNITE A LITTLE SPARKLE, campaign.  The non-profit group helps provide children and youth with positive adult mentorship.  The Weyburn Credit Union and MNP are matching all donations.  The campaign began the beginning of December and will run until December 31, 2021.  All donations stay in Weyburn to provide a positive one to one relationship for children facing adversity.

“Our mission is to enable the life changing mentoring relationships to ignite and empower the potential of young people,” said Amy Noureldin, Director of Development and Communications.

Part of the donations go to providing a short training course for those who volunteer to be a Big Brother or Big Sister.

“We want this relationship to be developmental,” said Noureldin.   “We want to make really big impacts, we want to make sure our mentors are equipped for that, and that they feel supported and confident in this journey.”

The goal of the campaign is to raise $4000, with each donation being matched either by MNP or the Weyburn Credit Union.  To donate you can reach Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Weyburn on their Facebook or Instagram Pages or their website www.bbbsweyburn.ca.

Currently the organization is mentoring ten Little Brothers and Sisters with five more on the waiting list.  For those looking to join the organization you can contact the organization through their website.
