It was a Big Six Playoff classic on Wednesday night in Redvers.

Warren Hunter scored with 8:54 remaining in the second overtime period to lift the defending champion Wawota Flyers over the Redvers Rockets 4-3, putting Wawota just one win away from returning to the league final.

Entering the game, the road team had won the first two games of the Best-of-5 series (Wawota 4-3, Redvers 3-2). That trend would continue early into Game 3 and only become more prevalent later in the game.

Rob West opened the scoring sniping his second goal of the playoffs past Rockets' Thomas Bauche with 9:41 left in the first period to put the Flyers up 1-0. That would be the only goal of the opening frame.

In the second period, the Rockets would respond with two goals in less than a minute.

Redvers' captain Jordon Miller wristed his 6th of the playoffs past Flyers' goaltender Guillaume Blouin to tie the score at 1-1 at the 13:42 mark. Then 56 seconds later, Remi Lamotte sniped his 4th of the postseason top corner on a 2-on-1 to put the Rockets up 2-1.

Wawota would tie the game once again with 5:59 remaining as Kevin Lincoln scored his second to make it 2-2 after two periods.

The Flyers would regain their lead in the third period. Halfway through the final frame, Drake Bodie capitalized on a powerplay for Wawota to give them a 3-2 lead with time winding down.

Redvers would pull the goalie for the extra attacker in the final 1:30 of regulation. They would also receive a little help and Rob West was penalized for high-sticking.

On the powerplay, the Rockets would tie it up once again as Craig Gaudet blasted a one-timer home with just 32 seconds left in the game. That sent the game to overtime tied at 3-3.

The first ten minute period solved nothing, meaning the ice would be flooded and 20-minute overtimes would commence until there was a winner.

After some decent pressure by Redvers in the second overtime frame, it would Wawota ending the game off with a rebound from a faceoff win in the fifth period of the night. Hunter's second goal of playoffs gave the Flyers a 4-3 victory in double-overtime.

The series now shifts back to Wawota for Game 4, which is set for Sunday at 6pm.
