Although the Alberta Clipper that rolled through much of Saskatchewan yesterday has cleared off in many parts of the province, here in Weyburn it continues on.

This morning residents are awaking to snow drifts against their doors and in the streets and continuing high winds.

Highways were still closed early this morning but Weyburn highways began reopening around 8:15 this morning. However, as of 8:30, there are still a number of highways showing as closed.

This morning the winds are calmer, resulting in better visibility, after gusting upwards of 99 km/hour last night.

Fire and rescue crews from the area were out last night, attempting to aid the many people who got trapped in the storm and had to pull over and park on the side of the highways in the area.

There were a number of power outages reported throughout the southeast and crews are working to restore power in all affected areas, including areas around Radville, Ceylon,  Minton, Lake Alma, Carnduff, Frobisher, Alameda, Creelman, Heward, Halbrite, Griffin, Colgate, Goodwater, Sedley and Francis.

Bus cancelations are also rolling in from the SECPSD, with all Fillmore, Gladmar, Lyndale, Midale, Ogema, Pangman, Radville, Yellow Grass, and Weyburn Rural buses being canceled this morning.

The Family Place has announced that they will be closed today sue to the conditions, as has the Weyburn Humane Society.

Envision Counselling & Support Centre has also announced their offices will be closed today in Weyburn and Estevan, to reopen tomorrow.

We will continue to update this story throughout the morning as the storm wraps up its roll through Weyburn.
