The Fall book sale is on now at the Weyburn Public Library, beginning at 9:30 this morning and ending at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Daily book sale hours can be found HERE. The sale is an opportunity for residents to purchase gently used items previously held in the Library's inventory, in support of the programming offered there. Everything from fantasy novels to cookbooks, and even movies and video games are available to purchase for as little as $1 each.

With such alluring prices it's hard to imagine a much better deal, but guests may also pay an extra $2 during checkout in order to spin the bonus wheel and earn additional prizes- including $5 off of your grand total. Readers are flooding the sale, searching for their next page-turner. One guest even made the trip from Midale to take advantage of the discounts, rounding up two bags full of books to bring home.

"I started with the best-sellers, my favorite authors is where I ran to, and then I found some along the way. I even found some that weren't on my list, some I was looking for years ago! My daughter also gave me a list, so we added 'The Baby-sitters Club' to her collection. It was awesome today! There was lots of selection. And even though it's really busy, people are being really kind and helpful. It's kind of like a Black Friday, but nice!"

Although the sale is filled with Thrillers, How-to's, and other genres geared towards adult readers, the selection for children is also quite robust and well received by their audience. After building a repertoire of her own, one young girl was thrilled to spin the bonus wheel at the checkout table.

"I spinned it and I got five dollars off our books! Then my sister did, and she got a bag of tissues. I really like the Robert Munsch books because they're funny, and I got a big book with a whole bunch of stories inside of it!"

Her older sister was not nearly as thrilled about winning the tissues, however she was excited about the selection of books that she had discovered.

"I found a lot of horse books, and books that my friend likes, so I think it was good. I found 6 books, but 'Anne of Green Gables' is my favorite because she messes up a lot and it's funny!"

Although many avid readers have taken their scores, countless boxes of books remain in the Library's basement, along with many more opportunities to discover your next favorite title. Get in on the action and stock your shelves for Winter at the Weyburn Public Library's used book sale, happening now until Saturday, October 21st.
