Weyburn's own Brayden King will be playing an all-ages show at the Weyburn Legion on Thursday, October 13th. He'll be joined by opening acts Taylor Morgan (of Dead Levee), and Jordyn Pollard

For King and Morgan, the idea of an all-ages show goes back to when they had reached local fame with their crowd-pleasing band, Seventh Avenue.

"We wanted to do a couple of all-ages shows, so we rented the Legion, and had an overwhelming response," King shared. "We had a bunch of people under the age of 19 getting out to the show."

"So when I was planning this tour, I thought, why not come back to the Legion and do something for all ages? Because I know the kids want to get out there too, and have just as much fun as their parents."

As everyone would hope, King said he will be playing a good mix of current and past cover tunes, and a lot of originals.

Doors open for the show on October 13th at 6:30 p.m., with the show beginning at 7:15.

This is the first leg of the 'Non-stop' Tour, named for the fact that there is no end in sight.

"I've been basically on the road nonstop since September of last year," Brayden noted. "Just tour after tour. So, instead of naming the tours different things every time, I just figured, let's call it the nonstop tour because we're not slowing down anytime soon."

King's lead guitarist is his friend Roman Kozlowski. "He's my favorite guy to play with. He makes being on stage so much fun."

His drummer is Cody Mack, and his bass player is none other than Kelly Kwochka, the bassist from the 7th Avenue.

"So it's a bit of a 7th Ave reunion," he chimed. "We haven't played together since 2020, so I'm really, really excited to have Kelly on these shows."

"Also, we got Jordyn Pollard, who's making waves all across Canada on the radio," he commented. "She is so, so incredible. You guys are going to love her."

"One of my best friends, Taylor Morgan, who is the lead singer of Regina's Dead Levee, will open the night with an acoustic set, something that he doesn't do very often, but he's real excited to be on these shows, and I couldn't be happier to have him."

He said when it comes to choosing his opening acts he always picks the ones he enjoys playing with the most, his friends, to go along with him on tour.

"So that's exactly who these people are. Jordyn is a great friend of mine, and Taylor is as well. So, I couldn't be happier to have my friends on these shows with me."

"You can tell when a band or just musicians onstage have not only musical chemistry, but just friendship chemistry. And that's definitely what I have with these people that I'm doing this show with. It's so much fun to be on stage with your friends, there's nothing better."

King said he has plans in the works to release some new music in 2023.

Tickets for the show are $20 in advance for adults, $30 at the door, and free for children 12 years of age and under. Find tickets HERE.
