The Weyburn Police Service executed a search warrant on Ebel Road Thursday, after a lengthy investigation into alleged illegal activities at Greenleaf Compassion Marijuana Dispensary. The investigation was launched after complaints from the public dating back to December of last year. The warrant was served under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act by the Weyburn Police Service, and their Criminal Investigation and Drug Enforcement Units. In a press release issued Thursday evening, police say the business was operating "under the guise of a legitimate medical marijuana dispensary".

A 33-year-old man was arrested at the scene without incident and was in custody at the time of the press release issued by the Weyburn Police Service.

Numerous charges are expected to be laid, including trafficking in marijuana, possession for the purpose of trafficking in marijuana, and possession of the proceeds of crime. Additional arrests and charges could result before the conclusion of the investigation.
