It will be a busy weekend for many Weyburn and area hockey teams over the next few days, as many of the teams come back from the Christmas break.  

Here in Weyburn, things start off Friday night as the U18 AA Aaron Well Servicing Gold Wings host the Western Prairie Thunder at Crescent Point Place. The Gold Wings come into the game with a record of 8-2-1 and are currently sitting in fourth place in the South Division of the SaskFHL, although they have played the fewest games of any team in the division.  

The U18 AA John Hulbert Construction Wings will also be in action Friday night. They travel to Emerald Park for a matchup against the Prairie Storm. Weyburn is coming into the game with a record of 8-12-2-1 and are 9th in the South Sask Division of the SAAHL. Prairie Storm is currently 6th, with a record of 12-7-1-3. 

Saturday the action picks up with the U18 AAA Richardson Pioneer Gold Wings travelling to Prince Albert. They have a pair of games on tap with the Bears, with the second being played Sunday afternoon. The Gold Wings enter the weekend with a record of 3-14-0-1 and are currently 6th in the SFU18AAAHL.  

The U13 AA Young Fellow Wings are also on the road Saturday, as they head to Melville for a matchup with the Millionaires. The Wings are looking to continue their strong play from the first half of the season, as they sit 2nd in the South Division of the SAAHL with an 11-2-4 record.  

Then, the U15 AA Annugas Wings will be on home ice Saturday as they take on the North East Wolf Pack. The Wings are looking to bounce back in the second half of the season, as they start off 2023 in 9th in the South Division with a record of 4-12-0-0. 

Sunday will see the U18 AA Wings at home as they play host to the Moose Jaw Warriors. The U15 AA Wings will be on the ice just before that game, playing the Yorkton Terriers.
