Weyburn has a slight chance of rain showers and a thunderstorm this afternoon and evening, but things are looking up for the rest of the week.

“There's a little band of showers that are going to move through over the next couple of hours,” said Justin Patten, Meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada. “You could have sunny conditions in the afternoon before there's a chance of some showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and early evening.”

He added if we experience any rain, it won’t be severe.

Moving forward, the region is seeing a steady increase in temperatures throughout the week.

“There's a chance there's a system that could bring a quick bit of shower activity early Wednesday morning, but generally speaking it will just be sunny and warm and warmer towards the weekend.”

He added heading into the weekend the temperature could be around 30°C.

“There's a chance that there could be an extreme heat event which we would want to caution people about early on, and make sure people are drinking lots of water and finding shade and doing all that stuff for the weekend.”
