Corporal Riley Doud said a man has since been charged for proceeding from a stop sign before safe to do so.

"One person was taken to hospital for further examination," he explained. "As a result of the investigation, we have charged an adult male for proceeding before safe to do so from a stop sign."

Doud said the investigation determined the male did stop at the stop sign.

"Then it was just a case of proceeding from that stop sign without enough time to do so," he noted. "Whether they didn't see the vehicle or what the case may be, but yeah, they didn't see the vehicle and caused an accident, so we just want to remind motorists out there to be extra cautious when proceeding from intersections."

He added, that whether it's a stop sign or a yield sign, be extra cautious to make sure that you do have enough time to proceed before doing so.
