February break is right around the corner, and the City of Weyburn will be celebrating on Monday, February 20th, with Family Fun Day winter festival events at the Credit Union Spark Centre, the Weyburn Leisure Centre and the Tom Zandee Sports Arena. 

There will be regular drop-in programming happening at the Spark Centre from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Tina Clay, Program Manager with the City of Weyburn, said that there will be a drop-in mural project for people aged 16 years and up, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., face painting from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., a family clay craft from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., the climbing wall will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., appearances from Paw Patrol from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., as well as a family sun catcher craft from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

There will be a ton of activities happening at the Weyburn Leisure Centre as well, including crokicurl from noon to 4:30 p.m., a $5 family swim from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m, and games and hot chocolate in the sun room from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Clay said that the outdoor rink at the Spark Centre will have a skate with the Red Wings and the Gold Wings from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. as well. 

She added there will be free skating at the Tom Zandee Sports Arena from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Clay also shared that there will be a city-wide snowman building contest running from February 20th to March 15th of this year.

"So we're just asking that you build a snowman and send a photo of it to the Weyburn Arts Gallery or the Weyburn Arts Council, and you'll be entered to win a free kids pass to the Credit Union Spark Centre."
