Want to help someone in need this Holiday season? The City of Weyburn is accepting food donations for the Salvation Army.

People can drop off their non-perishable food donations to City Hall, Public Works or Fire Hall, Weyburn Leisure Centre, or the Credit Union Spark Centre.

“This allows no one to be hungry in our city,” Abby Kradovill, Safety Coordinator with the City of Weyburn said. “It seems like an obvious thing that no one should go without food, but unfortunately that's not a reality for some people.”

The deadline is tomorrow at noon, but there are options for those who can’t drop their donation off in time.

“If they missed the deadline, I would just drop it off at the Food Bank, and I believe the spark center is open till 10:00 p.m., and the leisure center is open till 9:00 p.m.”

The Salvation Army Food Bank needs non-perishable foods, especially things like cereal, canned fruit, instant noodles, and pasta.
