The City of Weyburn announced that they are hosting the third annual Wey-Clean week from May 8th to 12th.

During Wey-Clean week, Weyburn residents, organizations, and businesses are encouraged to help cleanup and improve their community.

In a media release, the City of Weyburn said that the week was inspired by the City’s Environmental Resources Committee, "with a purpose to encourage simple actions by Weyburn residents to tackle litter and properly dispose of waste to make the community a safer and more attractive place to live, play and work."

The City of Weyburn will focus on different neighborhoods each day of the week, using it's garbage collection areas: May 8th – City crews focusing city-wide, May 9th – Area 1, May 10th – Area 2, May 11th – Area 3, 4 and 5, and May 12th  – Downtown.

The entire Weyburn community from families, neighbours, coworkers, recreation teams, to school classes, is encouraged to participate and tour the streets in an area of their choosing and pick up litter to help beautify the City.

The City said there are public garbage cans located in all city-owned parks. "Goliath Disposal will also be setting up temporary roll-off bins in each area to dispose of the garbage you collect."

The City of Weyburn said to, "Tag us on social media @cityofweyburn and #weycleanweek or #weyclean to show your community pride!"
