The city of Weyburn is looking for the public's engagement on matters that are important to them.

The city provided a media release where they stated that they are providing an opportunity for public input on new strategic priorities, as well as preliminary planning of the 2024 municipal budget through an online survey.

From May 29th to June 16th, the media release explained that an online community survey will be made available through the city of Weyburn website for residents and business owners in the Opportunity City.

"This survey is an opportunity for the Weyburn public to share what is important to them in how municipal revenues will be invested and plans for the future of our community," said city manager Mathew Warren.

Last year, the city of Weyburn began developing the bedrock for a new strategic plan, the media release said. "A new vision and mission were created: Vision - a community for all; Mission - growing through opportunity."

Weyburn City Council developed the strategic objectives of economy, growth, community and governance. The media release said that Council requested further public input regarding the 2024 municipal budget during the preliminary planning stages.

"The survey will gather input from the community on the City's objectives, to ensure they are on target for the broader community. Input on budget will give valuable feedback on the services, programs and projects that matter to the community."

The media release explained that the provided community input will help Council and administration develop approaches that will guide the actions and directions of the city through its budget and final strategic plan.

A report on input collected will be presented to Council at its regular meeting set for August 14th at 6:00 p.m. The results will be posted HERE.
