The City of Weyburn will be back in action tomorrow to celebrate our nation's birthday. However, since the Weyburn Leisure Centre's outdoor pool is currently closed due to flooding occurring last week, this year's event will be held in the park between the Weyburn Credit Union Spark Centre and the tennis courts just southwest of Jubilee Park

While the fun for the whole family begins at 9:00 a.m., the Royal Canadian Legion Colour Guard will be providing the Canada Day Flag Ceremony at 10:00 a.m., in front of the Legacy Park Elementary School, which will include greetings from the City of Weyburn.

"We're pretty excited to be able to host Canada Day events again this year," said Program Manager with the City Of Weyburn, Tina Clay.

"We will have bouncy houses on-site provided by Seitz's Rentals and Supplies from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.," she shared. "We'll have children and family games as well, from 9:00 to 4:00, including the Splash Summit Water Adventure yard games, and the Fun In The Sun Mobile Play Park will be out. We also have Melissa's Cotton Candy and the ice cream bike out all day."

"Immediately following the flag ceremony, we have a birthday cake that will be on a first-come, first-served basis, that is sponsored by the Prairie Sky Co-op," Clay said. "Inclusion Weyburn will be on site to provide a barbecue for a cost. They'll have hot dogs and other goodies available for purchase from around 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 or 2:00 p.m., and then we also have the City of Weyburn's arts programmers out, who will be doing crafts and face painting from 11:30 to 3:30."

She said Paw Patrol characters will be making appearances in 15-minute stints at 11:00 a.m., 12:00, 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 p.m.

The City of Weyburn will also host the Fireworks Display at the exhibition grounds, which typically goes off around 10:30 p.m.

"So the fireworks go off from the west side of the fairgrounds, and there is parking over there as well," she invited.

Preceding the fireworks will be a movie, 'Sing 2', held by the Weyburn Agricultural Society at the Curling Rink.
