The RCMP called it a sign that impaired driving is dangerous, as well as illegal.

According to a post on their social media over the weekend, a motorist in Weyburn collided with a pole late Thursday evening along Highway 13. An officer from the RCMP’s Combined Traffic Services unit responded to the reports of the single-vehicle collision.

The truck was damaged as a result of the collision, but the driver was uninjured. A roadside screening for impairment was conducted, and the driver failed. He was arrested, and taken to the detachment for breath samples to be obtained. There, RCMP say the driver failed the tests again and was charged with impaired driving.

The pole that the driver had collided with?

It had a sign on it, promoting the Report Impaired Drivers program, which encourages people to call 911 if they spot a suspected impaired driver.
