There is a new face at the Weyburn Salvation Army Food Bank.
Shannon Robinson started this month as the Family Services Worker. The job entails a variety of duties, all of which involve people, something that she said she is looking forward to.
“I like talking with people, meeting people helping people,” Robinson told Discover Weyburn. “That’s very important to me.”
Originally hailing from Saskatchewan, she was living in Calgary until around four years ago, when she relocated to the Opportunity City. While she admitted the pace of life was a lot different than in the big city, she loves it here.
While she is new to the role here in Weyburn, she has worked in a similar capacity before.
“I did volunteer at the Calgary food bank before, and I did that for about six months,” Robinson related. “That’s pretty extreme compared to here but it was a lot of fun – I learned a lot.”
Robinson said she is settling into the role, and getting along with everyone.
“I’m looking forward to the future, for sure.”
