The Canadian Wheat Board is in the process of "right-sizing" its 400 member staff, the majority of which are at the head office in Winnipeg.

This coming Monday, 23 people will be laid off.

The CWB is in a stage of transformation as Bill C-18 moves the organization from a single desk monopoly into an open market system as of August 1st.

Meantime, the former directors of the CWB are back in court this week seeking an injunction to try and stop the implementation of the law pending a full court challenge on its legality.
