In order to build a new movie theatre, the Weyburn Theatre Project will soon be tearing down the old Soo Theatre, which has been around since the 1940s.

"As part of the theatre project, I'm also producing a documentary on the old Soo Theatre, because it's a legacy building that's going to be knocked down," said television and film producer, Corey Morrissette of Weyburn.

"So I just want to get the word out, if anybody wants to be a part of it, and share some stories they have in the old theatre, or if they have pictures, any memories, I know that it hosted some weddings way back in the day. Santa used to come for  Christmas at one point in time, and if anyone has any memories that they want to share as part of this documentary, I'd love to get him on film."

Morrissett added the Soo, "was a big part of our community, so it's a little bittersweet seeing the old girl go."
