The Weyburn Comprehensive School Eagles football team is off to the provincials. 

The Eagles beat the visiting Bishop Mahoney Saints from Saskatoon in the semifinals Saturday afternoon 24-13, thanks to a strong ground game. 

WCS gained 433 yards on the ground in the game, led by Austin Knupp, who rushed for 168 yards and a touchdown. Ben Michel collected another 139 yards on the ground on 22 carries, scoring a major. Meanwhile, quarterback Ben Manning got it done through the air, and on the ground, as he threw for 57 yards, including a touchdown pass to Conner Kerr. He also ran for 64 yards. Evan Barsness added another 45 yards on the ground. 

On defence, Manning chipped in with two interceptions, while Riley Dugan recorded a quarterback sack.

With the win, the Eagles will be off to the provincial championships next Friday in Regina, where they will face Greenall High School from Balgonie. The game is scheduled for Leibel Field, with kick-off at 6:00 p.m.
