Elaine Froese, Farm Family Coach

Farm Succession Planning can be emotional and challenging but it’s definitely an issue that needs to be addressed.

"Do things and give gifts and turn over assets while you're alive. Your kids can say thank you and you can still work with your kids, and still have a great relationships with them, because you're alive to see the benefits on how your assets have been reallocated to the next generation and ultimately to still help you." explains Elaine Froese, Farm Family Coach, who was in Saskatchewan this week talking about the importance of farm succession planning.

She adds when you are going through the process it's important to have a good team of advisers, including lawyers and accountants, who understand agricultural issues.
