Envision Counselling and Support Centre is relaunching a program in southeast Saskatchewan.

Laura Melle is the assistant executive director with Envision. She explained that the Bridging the Distance program, introduced two years ago, will continue for those who need support during these times.

“Our Bridging the Distance counselling program is for any individuals that are over the age of 55, or any individuals of any age living with a disability,” Melle said.

The program is available at no cost for residents within the area that Envision serves. This includes Weyburn, Estevan, Carlyle, Oxbow and rural communities in this corner of the province.

“The whole idea around it was to help support individuals that were isolated during the pandemic. Of course, it’s kind of evolving now that restrictions are lifting,” Melle added.

For the time being the program uses telephone and video calls, but there are plans to allow for in-person counselling in the coming months.

You can get more details about the program by contacting Envision in Weyburn (306-842-8821), Estevan (306-634-4004) or Carlyle (306-453-2405).
