Organizers of the 2019 Communithon are reporting the final results are still coming in for donations.

Communithon Chair Wanda Miller said part of the reason is donations are being processed through the United Way Regina office.

"We know that things trickle in, so we will get the actual the final total in the next week or two," she explained. "The total that I know, that I'll be taking into our meeting tonight is $75,355."

She said they received a lot of positive feedback throughout the day of Communithon, which was held last Friday and aired live for 15 hours via ACCESS 7. In particular, people commented with their approval of the event being held once again this year at the Royal Canadian Legion Weyburn Branch, which is where it was originally held in its early years.

"We really appreciate the community coming out and supporting," Miller expressed. "I mean, they told us very clearly at our community consultation meetings last January, they wanted to go back, and they told us all day that they really enjoyed that it was back there, so it was a great event."

She noted the live turnout was better than they had seen in years.

"People were out milling around, but we had people all day," she noted. "It was very full, and the energy was very positive and right up there in the sense of being able to enjoy the entertainment and just enjoy the day and the visiting around it."
