UPDATE:

There were no injuries after a fire broke out in a home on the 500 block of 5th Avenue southeast Tuesday evening.

The Weyburn Fire Department arrived to find smoke coming from the roof of the house. When crews entered they found a fire upstairs.

Acting Fire Chief Trent Lee said the fire is classified as improper disposal of smoking material.

"I'd just like to remind people to check their smoke alarms more frequently," Lee said. "I would suggest people check them monthly."

Fire crews were on the scene for about an hour.
