Weyburn's own Myla and Morgyn Moule, 14, will be keeping busy on the weekends throughout February baking cookies for a third annual fundraiser close to their hearts.

Their third annual chocolate chip cookie fundraiser is underway, with all money being raised locally going to the Mending Little Hearts Fund of Saskatchewan, a designated charitable fund created in partnership with Jim Pattison Children's Hospital Foundation.

The organization was founded in 2016 and provides essential equipment and support to families who have a child with a congenital heart condition. Morgyn Moule, who has a congenital heart defect, has benefitted from the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital, as well as from the 'CHAMPS Camp' offered through the organization.

"This foundation is near and dear to our hearts and has been for years," said parent and fundraising coordinator Jennie Moule on Facebook. "As a family, we decided we wanted to give back to them, so we decided to raise money during heart month by baking cookies."

You can order cookies by the dozen and payment can be made by donation. Find out all the details on their Facebook Group HERE.

In 2021, the cookies raised 133 dozen cookies for a total of $2,575, and in 2022 they raised 223 dozen cookies for a total of $4,434. This year's goal is $5,000.

February is Heart Health month in Canada.
