The Gifted Summer Art Market will be held this Saturday, July 13th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Jubilee Park.

"We have over 40 vendors and almost 50, which is a record number for us this year," shared Natasha Hill, Board Chair with the Weyburn Arts Council.

She said The Weyburn Fire Brigade will be holding a barbecue at the event, and the Weyburn Therapeutic Animal Park will have cotton candy for sale. Food vendors also include Meok Ja and Stranger Danger Candy Co.

"So come hungry," she encouraged, noting while some vendors do have card readers and may accept e-transfers as payment, the majority will be cash only. While one can enter the park from anywhere, patrons will still have the opportunity to donate to the Arts Council while there, which is just an option and not an obligation.

Hill said the Weyburn Arts Council will be making a special announcement at 2:00 p.m. about a new community initiative.
"So you won't want to miss that one. It's the Weyburn Arts Council's 60th anniversary this year, and we wanted to make sure that we celebrated that with some things that would give back to the community that supported us for all of these years."

"We are always looking for volunteers, so those people want to volunteer for an hour a year or come on board, we are always looking for new members," added Hill.

In case of inclement weather, a backup location has been arranged. Stay tuned to the WAC social media page for those potential changes. However, the forecast is still calling for hot and sunny weather that day.
