Grace Knibbs was born September 20, 1924 at Royal University Hospital in Edmonton, AB.  She was the youngest child of four born to Harry and Mary Annie Harsant.  Grace completed her schooling through Grade 9 in Edmonton, AB.  Grace married Albert Knibbs on July 18, 1950 in Victoria, BC.  She then moved to their first family farm which Albert had purchased in 1946. She lived on this farm until 1985. They then moved to a new house on another half section of land they owned.
Grace had many hobbies and interests throughout her years.  She had a big love of her flower gardens.  She had a green thumb and knew where each plant should go and what it needed to flourish. She was an avid reader. It was nothing for her to finish a book in a day. Reading came to an end as her sight deteriorated.  Grace had a strong desire to learn new words and loved to try them on her family to see if they could figure them out.  She taught herself new recipies, and how to sew and knit.  Her daughters remember many times when they were taking sewing classes at school Grace would work right along with them figuring out the patterns and sewing methods.
Mom's greatest pride was her children. She took time to nurture each one, encouraging their interests, strengths and priding in their accomplishments.  She was quiet, yet she instilled a strong sense of family, work ethic and respect for life.
Grace will be truly missed by all who knew her. The funeral service was held on Thursday, January 06, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Grace United Church, Weyburn. Interment took place at Stoughton Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in memory of Grace may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Feed the Children Foundation.
The active pallbearers were her loving granddaughters: Tanya Burdan, Jennifer Roberts, Charlene Demeria, Stephanie Nichols, Chelsey Knibbs, and Courtney Knibbs.
