It’s Day Three of Grain Rush driven by Great Plains Ford and today we went out to treat Barry Barsness and his crew to some delicious KFC.
Barry’s crew grows durum, canola, flax, lentils, and mustard and he noted that harvest is going fairly well this year.
“So far so good,” he said. “It’s a little thing but we’re getting there.”
Another interesting factor is being added to harvest this year as the farmers get to deal with the smoke and special air quality statement that has been in effect.
“It is what it is,” shrugged Barry, noting that they are doing what they have to do to get harvest done.
With so much work for them to do, it seemed only right to help them out with a fantastic harvest meal! Thanks to KFC, Great Plains Ford, and today’s sponsors, E. Bourassa and Sons and Westrum Lumber.
