As Weyburn braces itself for the blizzard predicted by Environment Canada, highway conditions have already begun to deteriorate.

As of 9:30 Friday night, all highways directly through Weyburn have been closed. This includes Hughway 39 from Yellow Grass to Midale, Highway 13 from Stoughton to Pangman, Highway 35 from the junction of 306 all the way to the US border and Highway 6 from 20 kms north of Pangman to the US border. Everything else on the southeast, and much of the province, is showing travel not recommended.

The Weyburn Police Service have also recommended that all residents avoid travel and stay home.

The brunt of the storm has yet to hit Weyburn and highways are expected to deteriorate further.
