It was a scary incident, almost a scene out of a movie, for one Weyburn resident last Friday.
The Weyburn Police Service received a call from a resident of an apartment that someone had broken a window to the suite and had climbed in. The resident fled from the home and frantically called police.
“The individual (that broke in) was very intoxicated,” explained Deputy Police Chief Brent VanDeSype. “Police did attend and locate the individual and taken them into custody, but the individual was known to that resident, so it wasn’t a case where that resident was in any type of danger.”
The person who had broken in was treated by EMS for any injuries they suffered as a result of the incident. They were then taken to cells, and lodged until they were sober. From there, they were charged and will have an upcoming court date.
