The next inning, Weyburn doubled the lead when Luke Niemegeers hit a single to second base that allowed two runs to come in with Adam Ziegler and Mike Onstad scoring, making it a 4-0 game.

In the sixth inning, Regina would finally get on the board, when Niemegeers, pitching in relief, walked two batters with the bases loaded, making it 4-2.

Eric Evans earned the win on the mound for the Beavers, He went five innings, striking out three and allowing five hits and one walk. In two innings of relief work, Niemegeers struck out four, and walked six, allowing two earned runs.

The Iron Pigs will be back in action next Friday, when they host the Regina Dodgers at Tom Laing Park.
